FALL RETREAT
TUFTONBORO, NH
OCTOBER 15-17, 2027
Our 3-day Fall Retreat…
Nestled in the Ossipee Mountains, “Quietude” is the setting for our Fall Retreat. This historic lodge, built in 1903, has been carefully restored to its original purpose: helping people unplug, connect with one another, and reconnect with nature. Comfortable rooms, cozy gathering spaces, views of the Belknap Range, and 5 km of hiking trails on the property make it a true gem for both relaxation and exploration.
We'll run along quiet country roads, both dirt and paved, and through gentle cross-country trails, taking in the views at every turn. Designed for runners of all abilities, the weekend features two guest speakers and activities to nourish body, mind, and soul. It's a chance to get away, slow down, and build lasting connections with other women who love to run.

Stephanie Bruce is one of America’s most popular female distance runners, grit expert, mom, and all around badass. Steph’s open approach to social media, writing and speaking has made her a role model and inspiration to runners everywhere. She coaches athletes of all ability levels online and hosts, along with her husband Ben, a running camp in Flagstaff each summer. She is also well known as one of the co-founders of Picky Bars. In addition to her business ventures, Steph has racked up top finishes and National Championships in her long and storied career. She recently concluded her professional running career as the fifth American at the 2022 New York City Marathon. Steph is joining us virtually as she is expecting her third child this fall.

Kelly Arp is a lifelong learner, community builder, yogi, athlete, and runner. She is a mom of three and proud owner of two wildly energetic golden retrievers.
Running found Kelly later in life, and it found her on a beach. A friend's spontaneous invitation led to two long, humbling miles in the sand, and somehow, she was hooked. She bought real sneakers, downloaded a running app, and never looked back. One run became another, which became a 5K, then a half marathon, then a full marathon finish line.
For a while, though, running existed in cycles. A race on the calendar, a training block, then a slow fade once the finish line was crossed. It wasn't until she began working with Sarah Canney and the Rise Run Collective, weaving in strength training and dynamic running drills, that something shifted. The training itself became the joy. And for the first time, Kelly didn't just run. She began to truly own the identity of runner and athlete.
Today, she finds deep meaning in every mile, whether it's an easy loop through the neighborhood or toeing the start line of a marathon. That joy is exactly what she brings to Rise Run Retreat.

A competitive collegiate runner at Brown University, Kim returned to running not to long ago and found a passion for the mountains.
A member of the 2016 U.S. Mountain Running team, Kim was the first American female finisher at the World Mountain Running Championships that year leading the team to a bronze medal.
Borrowing from her own experience being sidelined by injury, Kim has devoted herself to helping injured and injury prone runners return to running. She helps her athletes build resilient bodies that can withstand the rigors of training. You can find more from Kim at kimnedeau.com.

Accommodations at our spring retreats are usually at luxury private homes with single and double and multi-occupancy available on a first come first serve basis. Our fall retreats often feature rustic, lodge-like accommodations with double and single occupancy.
-
The cancellation deadline for each retreat is 90-days before the retreat start date. Prior to the cancellation deadline, registered participants can receive a refund less a $500 non-refundable deposit. Because of the investment of time and money into planning the retreat and securing lodging, guest speakers etc., we are unable to issue any refunds after the cancelation deadline of 90-days prior to the retreat start date.
-
We require a negative COVID test within 72 hours arrival to participate in our retreats.
-
We believe that running is a transformative act for everyone who chooses to participate. We welcome runners of all ages and abilities. For group runs we divide into pace groups and make sure that no one runs alone. We believe that everyone belongs at Rise.Run.Retreat.
-
Group runs are anywhere from 3-6 miles on varied terrain. At each of our retreats, we plan for a combination of road, trail and rural dirt road runs. For those following a training plan, there are options to run longer when needed.
-
The biggest difference is the length of the retreat and the fact that our 3-day retreat does not feature outside guest speakers and is facilitated by Rise Run Retreat founder and host, Sarah Canney and Rise Run Retreat staff.
-
This varies based on our location, but typically the closest airports are
Manchester-Boston Regional Airport (MHT) Manchester, NH
Portland International Airport (PWM) Portland, Maine
Boston Logan International Airport (BOS)
Burlington International Airport (BTV) Burlington, VT
The retreat does not provide transportation to and from the airport but assists attendees with coordinating carpool and rideshare with other attendees.
