    Rise.Run.Retreat. 2020 Safety Measures

Despite the uncertainty and continually changing national and state guidelines, I am committed to finding a way to safely host the 2020 Fall Retreat in Wells, Maine. More so now than ever before it is evident that real, in-person human connection is essential to our well-being and mental health. As our nation and the world continues to navigate through this pandemic, it is my belief that persistence and creativity are necessary for establishing safe and meaningful ways for us to gather in-person. With this in mind, I have created Rise.Run.Retreat. Safety Measures Document and our Safety Participation Requirements to outline how we will safely carry out our Fall (and future) retreats in a way that allows us to connect and ensures the safety of our participants, guest speakers and staff.

    Founder + host, Rise.Run.Retreat.

    SAFETY REQUIREMENTS

Through these safety requirements, we hope to create a safe environment for every participating as well as the surrounding community. We believe that required COVID testing will help do that as well as provide peace of mind to all those involved.

    • All participants, staff, and guest speakers will be required to submit a negative COVID test result prior to participation in the Rise.Run.Retreat. Fall Retreat October 1-4, 2020. The test must be conducted within a timeline so that participants receive the results between 9/24/20 and 10/1/20.* Test results must be submitted to Rise.Run.Retreat. at least 24-hours prior to arrival.

    • All participants, staff, and guest speakers will be required to submit COVID Symptoms Self-Assessment Checklist and submit it within 24-hours of arrival at the retreat location.

    • Prior to arrival, each retreat participant, guest speaker and staff will be required to complete a Certificate of Compliance indicating their adherence to the State of Maine’s safety guidelines.

    • Upon arrival, all participants, guest speakers, and staff will have their temperature taken via a temporal scanner.

*If the situation improves prior to September 18, 2020 this requirement may be lifted.

    ARRIVAL PROCEDURES

    Prior to arrival

Prior to arrival, each retreat participant, guest speaker and staff will be required to complete the following:

    • Receive a negative COVID test result between 9/28/20 and 10/1/20.*

    • The COVID Symptoms Self-Assessment Checklist due within 24 hours of arrival at the retreat location

    • a Certificate of Compliance indicating their adherence to the State of Maine’s safety guidelines due within 24 hours of arrival at the retreat location

    ARRIVAL

All participants, guest speakers and staff will have their temperature taken via a temporal scanner.

If a participant, staff or guest speaker has a temperature greater than 100.4 the individual will be unable to participate in the retreat and will have to leave the retreat location. There are no provisions for participants required to leave the retreat location.

    ON-SITE

Our location, with ample access to the outdoors, is ideal in helping to create a safe environment for all participants, guest speakers, and staff. If the weather allows, we will be conducting many of our gatherings outside.

Even with ample space to spread out, due to the fact that we eating and sleeping in close proximity, while the Retreat will work to ensure participants remain a safe distance, in some instances maintaining social distance may not be possible. It is imperative that participants read the Acknowledgment of Risk and Waiver and consent to this risk

    OFF-SITE

When off-site, Rise.Run.Retreat. participants will be encouraged to carry a buff or mask as a face covering should we encounter individuals on the trails or roads with whom we cannot maintain a social distance of 6-feet or more.

    TRANSPORTATION

Rise.Run.Retreat. will be providing transportation in rental vehicles to off-site runs. These rental vans will be thoroughly disinfected and cleaned prior to our use. Participants who drive to Rise.Run.Retreat. are welcome to use their personal vehicle for transportation during the retreat to and from off-site activities.

We encourage all participants to drive in their own vehicles to the retreat location.

    RISK MANAGEMENT PLAN

Rise.Run.Retreat. Has a risk management plan outlining plans and procedures to mitigate risk that might arise during our events. It includes procedures should any participant develop symptoms of COVID during their stay at Rise.Run.Retreat.
